Meeting of the Human Reproduction Programme at World Health Organization

July 3, 2015

On 25th and 26th of June 2015, our team member Dr Bettina Utz attended as Technical Advisor to the Flemish Government the 28th meeting of the Policy and Coordination Committee (PCC) of the Human Reproduction Programme (HRP). ITM contributes every year to this important meeting held at  World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters in Geneva. HRP was established in 1972 to expand research in human reproduction and is now the main instrument within the UN for carrying out international research in sexual and reproductive health (SRH). As a global programme of international technical cooperation, HRP has the mandate to promote, conduct, evaluate and coordinate research in SRH with a particular emphasis of the needs of developing countries. It depends almost entirely on voluntary contributions for carrying out its activities. The Flemish Government is an important contributor to the programme and shares this role with the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the US and the UK among several other donors.
