New Lancet letter by Alexandre Delamou, Abdoul Habib Beavogui, Mandy Kader Kondé, Johan van Griensven and Vincent De Brouwere (WCHRC coordinator). As of Dec 30, 2014, in Guinea 2419 laboratory-confirmed cases of Ebola were reported, of which 151 (6·2%) were in health-care workers. Although the case fatality rate is lower in health-care workers (52·3%) than in the general population (59·9%), there are concerns regarding the doubling of laboratory-confirmed Ebola infections in health-care workers during the past weeks compared with decreases in the general population.
