The ITM Woman & Child Health Research Centre organized a debate with Dr. Gebre Bogaletch, Winner of the 2012-2013 King Baudouin African Development Prize on Thursday May 23, 2013.
Dr Gebre Bogaletch won the prize ‘for her inspirational leadership and her determination to build on a remarkable personal journey to empower the women of Ethiopia and launch a true community-based movement for social change’.
The topic of the debate was “Effective approaches to address Female genital mutilation and women’s rights: experience from Ethiopia and the African diaspora” and it also featured Fabienne Richard (ITM WCHRC) and Zahra Naleie (FSAN, Federation of Somali association).
